The inaugural edition of Africa Australia Infrastructure Conference (AAIC) took place at the Sydney Exhibition and Convention Centre in September 2012. The international conference is specifically aimed at highlighting the emerging infrastructure development and business opportunities in African countries to the Australian business community. The 2-day event covers infrastructure sectors listed below:
The first two editions of AAIC attracted over USD$8 Billion worth of business opportunities, participation of several African countries including: Ghana, South Africa, Mauritius, Zambia, Tanzania, Namibia, Uganda, Kenya, Nigeria, Botswana, Cameron, Senegal and Angola among others. In Australia, the events also attracted over 50 key infrastructure stakeholders such as: Macquarie Bank, Worley Parsons, Engineers Australia, Cardno, Johnstaff, Snowy Mountains Engineering Corporation, DFAT, Austrade, NSW Government, Victoria Government and Export Council of Australia to mention a few.
Working with partners and business thought leaders in both Australia and Africa, the conference will enable a unique networking platform for Australian companies looking to introduce infrastructure solution(s) or invest in Africa’s fast growing infrastructure sector. The conference will also provide a unique platform for African infrastructure decision-makers to present business opportunities in their countries.
