Case Study 2: Nigeria Mining Roadshow 2018 in Melbourne & Perth
The Nigeria Mining Roadshow in Australia 2018 was a pioneer two-leg event designed to bring Nigeria mining decision-makers and their Australian counterparts in exclusive meetings in Melbourne and Perth respectively. The event was targeted to introduce mining opportunities in Nigeria to Australian stakeholders and give both parties a unique opportunity to meet, interact and establish connections.
The Nigeria Mining Road Show enabled a great opportunity for Nigerian Mining decision-makers to share detailed information on types of minerals and their locations in Nigeria. The Roadshow also gave vent to Nigeria mining regulatory frameworks, entry strategies and Government-backed incentives for new investors. On the other hand, invited Australian miners based in Nigeria shared their experience and prospects for their mining projects.
The Nigeria Mining Roadshow was the first of its kind for an African country in Australia. The event achieved key objectives which includes but not limited to creating awareness for mining opportunities in Nigeria and attracting more Australia miners into Nigeria mining sector.
The events were hosted by Nigeria High Commission in Canberra, organised by OctoberFirst Consulting with support from Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA).
Since the Roadshow in 2018, more Australian miners have sought exploration licenses while others started new projects in Nigeria.
